The land of Castles
There are so many sites in the Pays de la Loire marked by the white ‘Histoire de France’ stone. Middle Ages venues as the chateau of Angers; Renaissance splendours like chateaux de Brissac or Montsoreau; some castles have been inhabited for hundreds of years by a single family!

Angers
Charming buildings, nice gastronomy, vineyards, museums and festivals… There’s always a good ambience in Angers! See the city’s sights: an imposing fortress with 17 impressive towers, head for the Place du Ralliement where it’s good to linger on the café terraces in the shade of the Italian-style theatre!

Nantes
It has a huge maritime and riverside history. Nantes will unveil its port and its 18th-century ship-owners’ homes just for you. Near the cathedral and the Château des Ducs de Bretagne, some nice medieval quarters can be seen, for free. This place is working class and bourgeois at the same time. A city of water and greenery at the same time.
Nantes cultural activity is huge: The Graslin theatre, the Lieu Unique and the Musée des Beaux-Arts, and the mayor gives all his energy to boost this, funding interesting street bands, especiallyin summer.
